The Imaginarium: Creativity & STEAM Discovery Center at Mississippi State University has created an interactive educational environment where children can explore science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through hands-on activities.
As part of the center, Kids Jump Tech technology was integrated into a dedicated Interactive Wall & Draw Alive exhibit that combines physical movement, digital interaction, and children’s own drawings in a single experience. Imaginarium officially identifies the exhibit as “Created by Kids Jump Tech.”
About Imaginarium
Imaginarium is located on the Mississippi State University campus in Starkville and is part of the university’s College of Education. The center was created as a creativity-focused, research-based STEAM environment for children, families, and educators, with particular attention to communities that have limited access to hands-on STEAM programs.
The permanent center grew out of Imaginarium Express, a mobile makerspace launched in 2023. Faculty members Sareh Karami and Mehdi Garemani developed the initiative to give children across Mississippi more opportunities to experiment, create, collaborate, and develop problem-solving skills.

“We have had an outstanding experience with KIDSJUMPTECH! Their Interactive Wall and Animated Drawings systems have been wonderful additions to the Imaginarium and are consistently some of our visitors’ favorite experiences.
What has impressed us most, however, is their exceptional customer service. Their team is incredibly responsive, helpful, and genuinely committed to making sure everything works as it should. Whenever we have had a question or encountered an issue, they have responded immediately and worked with us until it was resolved.
We have worked with many companies and vendors in developing the Imaginarium, and KIDSJUMPTECH has truly been one of the very best companies we have worked with. Great products, wonderful people, and exceptional customer service. We highly recommend them!”
The Challenge: Combining Creativity, Movement, and STEAM Learning
For the permanent Imaginarium center, the university wanted to create an experience that went beyond passively viewing exhibits. Children needed opportunities to move, create, experiment, and immediately see the results of their actions.
Kids Jump Tech’s interactive technology became part of this environment through an exhibit combining Interactive Wall and Alive Sketch.
The result was a unified play area that connects physical activity with digital creativity and collaborative learning.
How Kids Jump Tech Equipment Is Used
Alive Sketch: Turning Children’s Drawings into Animation
With Alive Sketch, children first create or color their own characters. Their drawings are then scanned and transferred into a digital environment projected onto the wall.
Within seconds, children can see their own characters swimming, flying, or moving across an animated scene. This creates a direct connection between a physical drawing and an interactive digital experience.
Interactive Wall: Learning Through Full-Body Movement
The Interactive Wall adds another type of interaction. Motion sensors allow children to control activities through body movements and touchless gestures.
At Imaginarium, children can take part in activities such as popping bubbles, catching stars, and navigating digital mazes. According to the center, these activities help develop spatial awareness, coordination, and an understanding of cause-and-effect relationships.

From Installation to a Fully Operational University Exhibit
Kids Jump Tech equipment became part of Imaginarium during the development of the new permanent center, with the first Draw Alive equipment delivery taking place on May 14, 2025.
After testing, staff training, and the development of educational activities throughout the summer, Mississippi State University officially announced the center’s opening on October 27, 2025. The Interactive Wall with Draw Alive was specifically listed among the key exhibits.
The equipment is not used in isolation. Instead, it is integrated into a broader university program that includes organized field trips, themed educational activities, and hands-on STEAM learning.
How Children Use the Exhibit in Practice
Imaginarium currently uses Interactive Wall & Draw Alive when working with visiting school groups and other young visitors.
In February 2026, the center hosted 16 second-grade classes from Henderson Ward Stewart Elementary School. Mississippi State University’s own photo gallery shows children holding their drawings in front of the projected environment, where their characters had already been transformed into animated digital objects.
The exhibit is also included in other Imaginarium programs, including group visits and additional birthday activities.
The Educational Value of the Interactive Experience
Imaginarium describes the combined exhibit as a tool that supports several areas of children’s development and learning:
These goals align with the center’s broader educational model, which emphasizes active exploration, testing ideas, creating, revising, and collaborative learning rather than simply observing exhibits.
For schools, museums, and educational centers, this project demonstrates how interactive games and activities can become part of a structured STEAM environment rather than being used solely for entertainment.
Kids Jump Tech Installation at Mississippi State University
The Imaginarium project demonstrates how multiple Kids Jump Tech technologies can work together in a single educational environment.
By combining traditional children’s drawings with scanning, animation, projection, and interactive motion control, Mississippi State University created an exhibit that naturally connects art, physical activity, and digital learning.
The university itself identifies the Interactive Wall & Draw Alive exhibit as created by Kids Jump Tech, providing a real-world example of our technology being used as part of a university STEAM program.
For organizations planning to create a similar environment, Kids Jump Tech can provide both interactive equipment and custom software development tailored to specific educational or museum objectives and user experience requirements.
